The body repairs damaged fibers by fusing them, which increases the mass and size of the muscles. Proteins are the main factors here in fixing up the teared parts of the muscles that that's why proteins are called the body building food. Basically proteins fill up the damaged parts and that's how your muscle grows and increases in size. It is essential to have a proper diet during workouts to have a proper growth.
Certain hormones, including testosterone, human growth hormone, and insulin growth factor, also play a role in muscle growth and repair.
